* In the previous issue of NetWeek the /PDDIR and /PDGET commands for
LISTSERV@RPICICGE were announced. These commands allow access to the
SIMTEL20 software libraries. The sever was flooded with requests, causing
backlogs at YALEVM, CUNYVM, FRMOP11 and elsewhere. Access to the sever has
been limited so that each user may only send one /PDGET command per day.
Please take care when requesting files from this server:
1. Make sure that you specify the correct data format and encoding.
2. Do not resubmit a file request if it does not arrive the next day. Many
of the files are very large and take quite a bit of time (days, sometimes
weeks) to make it across the network.
3. Request only files that you cannot get from a local source (for example,
a nearby BBS or your systems online software library).
4. Do you really need this file, or are you just curious?
* In the first issue of NetWeek the nodename for BIOSERVE was incorrectly
typed as UMDCC. The correct nodename is UMDC.
* Thanks to everyone who reponded to the request for opinions on NetWeek.
The reaction was overwhelmling positive. We hope to be seeing you every
week for a long time...
