* NetCon(tm) plans for 1988!
NetCon(tm) is a"con"' or a mini-convention that is planned and coordinated
by computer users, like yourself, whose main link is the BITNET. NetCon88
offers you a chance to meet the "face at the other end," meaning that you
can finally meet the people to whom you have spoken on Relay, CSNEWS, or
directly. NetCon88 allows you to meet many of these people at the same
time, in the same location (convenient, eh?). You also have the
opportunity to visit a new city and take in the sights. NetCon88 will also
feature speakers whose topics range from the birth of the Relay to the
future of the networks (BITNET, NetNorth, EARN,the InterNet, etc.).
Time and Place: NetCon88 will take place May 27-30, in Tempe, Arizona.
For more information on hotel rates, airline discounts, and registration
fees, subscribe to the NETCON-L mailing list. To do this, send the
following command to LISTSERV@NCSUVM via mail or message:
SUB NETCON-L your_full_name
* foNETiks:
Eric Keller is the editor of foNETiks, a network news bulletin for the
phonetic sciences. To subscribe, send mail to Eric at R34334@UQAM. To
contribute to foNETiks, send your material to the same address.
* Relay news:
Users of CSRLY@VTVM2, please be advised that the server has been renamed to
the network-standard RELAY@VTVM2.
* SERVER@TAMCBA is no more:
A message from Rick Troth: "SERVER at TAMCBA received almost nil usage for
a number of months. That, coupled with a shortage of disk space, (what
else is new?) prompted us to take it down."
Archives for PSYCHNET magazine which were stored on SERVER are also stored
on LISTSERV@TCSVM.
